👀 Introducing the next generation of Deploy Previews and acquisition of FeaturePeek
Exciting news! We're proud to debut the next generation of Deploy Previews, adding powerful collaboration tools to help teams manage feedback and deliver better web experiences.
Based on technology from a recent acquisition of FeaturePeek, Deploy Previews now enable reviewers to comment, screen record, and annotate right from the actual preview link. No new tabs. No new tools. Everyone's feedback is neatly delivered back to the GitHub PR or productivity tool your team is already using.
When you send a Deploy Preview link to someone who does not yet have a Netlify account, they can sign up for free and join your team as a Reviewer to leave feedback on your projects. You can invite as many Reviewers as you'd like, including content marketers, product managers, business stakeholders, and more!
To get started, simply share the Deploy Preview link, and instruct them to sign up via the icon on the lower left. You can also send a link to this blog post with helpful instructions and best practices for Reviewers providing feedback.
What's new?
First, let's cover what stays the same. Deploy Previews will still support the same functionality you know and love today. Whenever you submit a pull/merge request, Deploy Previews are published to a unique shareable URL.
What's new is a collaboration UI and workflow to help your team get better feedback sooner from the product managers, UX designers, marketers, SREs, and others who are reviewing your site.
When a reviewer looks at the URL, they'll see a small icon with the Netlify logo in the lower-left corner. When they click on that icon, they'll get access to a handy drawer full of tools to help reviewers provide high-quality feedback.
With the new collaborative Deploy Previews, it's possible to:
Get rich, contextual feedback—with images & video—right from the browser
Take and annotate screenshots
Notify teammates in GitHub, Trello, Clubhouse, and Linear with @replies and get notified from within Deploy Previews (with more integrations coming soon!)
Troubleshoot different browser settings with user metadata and test on mobile devices by scanning a QR code
